Grade Input and Submission
Grade input
- If grades are not entered into the system within the deadline, they will be excluded from the batch grade processing. This may result in issues such as missing grade certificates for job seekers and graduate school applicants, disadvantages in scholarship selection, and delays in graduation review. The responsibility lies with the course instructor, so adherence to the input deadline is required.
[Grades cannot be entered if more than 60% of students receive B+ or higher (75% for experimental, practical, or performance courses).]
Notes on grade evaluation
- Grades are not evaluated for students who took a leave of absence before the final exam period. However, if a student who attended more than three-quarters of the class days submits a grade acquisition form due to unavoidable reasons for taking a leave of absence, the instructor must evaluate their grades.
- Grade evaluation follows the relative evaluation method based on the following grade distribution ratios:
(Undergraduate: Excludes courses with fewer than 15 students and teacher training courses / Graduate: Excludes all courses)Grade distribution ratios
A⁺ and A⁰ grades: 30% ± 5
B⁺ and B⁰ grades: 40% ± 5
C⁺ and C⁰ grades: 20% ± 5
D⁺, D⁰, and F grades: 10% ± 5 - Students who do not attend at least three-quarters of the class days in a semester cannot earn credits.
Grade submission
- Course instructors must directly input grades into the system during the designated grade input period after the final exam and must print out the grade sheet after final confirmation. The grade sheet and original attendance sheet must be submitted to the department head overseeing the course ⇒ Each college collects and preserves them until the student's graduation.
Original attendance sheet: Must record lecture dates, attendance details, and grades while adhering to class days (at least 15 weeks) and submit it along with the grade sheet.
Grade Sheet Printing: Must be printed during the grade input period (printing is not possible outside this period). - Students who do not attend at least three-quarters of the class days in a semester cannot earn credits.
Grade processing
- Course instructors directly input grades through the school website.
- If any fields in the grade column of the entered grade sheet are blank, they will be processed as F.
- Cases where grades are not recognized or canceled:
- Grades for prohibited courses
- Grades obtained from duplicate course registration
- Grades obtained from courses registered in excess of the maximum allowable credits (higher grades will be erased)
- Grades of non-registered students
- Grades of courses not registered for
- Grades invalidated due to academic dishonesty
- Grades of students who fall below three-quarters attendance due to leave of absence or disciplinary action
- Grades of students who took a leave of absence without submitting a grade acquisition form after three-quarters of the class days and before the final exam period
- Grades of students whose attendance was improperly recorded and entered without course registration confirmation
- Grades assigned by mistake
- Grades obtained through other unethical means
- For courses designated by the president (Article 64(3) of UOS Regulations) and prerequisite courses for master's programs designated by graduate school deans (Article 35(3) of UOS Graduate School Regulations), grades are entered as S (Pass) or U (Fail).
Grade viewing
Grade viewing period
- Available after the grade input period ends.
- Students can view their grades through the university administration information system.
Grade correction/finalization
Grade correction period
- Within 10 days from when grades become viewable, corrections must be submitted by department heads of course-offering departments to their respective colleges based on grade correction forms (downloadable from Campus Resources on the school website).
- Grade corrections are only allowed for errors or omissions made by instructors.
- Instructors are fully responsible for any reasons (mistakes) requiring corrections.
- Corrections exceeding 60% B+ or higher (75% for experimental/practical/performance courses) are not allowed (grade distribution ratios must be followed).
- College deans review legitimate reasons on correction forms and approve corrections before requesting processing by the UOS Division of Academic Affairs.
- In cases of administrative errors like system mistakes, the Division of Academic Affairs will process corrections directly.
- Finalized correction details are batch-entered into the system by the Division of Academic Affairs.
- Even after grades are finalized, those deemed invalid or unrecognized will be deleted and reported to relevant colleges.
Grade finalization
- After the correction period ends, grades are finalized and reported. College deans preserve original grade sheets and attendance sheets submitted by departments along with correction approval records from the Division of Academic Affairs until student graduation.
- Once grades are finalized, transcripts including that semester can be issued.
