Department of International Relations

Department of International Relations

Established in 1995, the Department of International Relations aims to train students for a professional career in both foreign and international fields. To achieve this, the department provides students with selected courses and programs which deal with the growing interdependence between various factors in the global community including: sovereign states, society, individuals, foreign governments, and transnational and supranational organizations such as NGOs and INGOs. The curriculum also features a combination of theory and practice by emphasizing the three major fields of the discipline: area studies, international affairs, and international exchange. Since 1999, the department offers an international field work program that provides students with an opportunity to experience the traditions and cultures of foreign countries such as China, Japan, and Mongolia. We will continue to make every effort to offer disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches to the pursuit of knowledge and to the solution of global problems.
