Dr. Cho is Professor of the department of Geoinformatics. He received his BS degrees in Covil Engineering in 1987 from University of Seoul. He received his MS degree in Urban Planning from Seoul National University in 1992, his Master Civil Engineering degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette in 1994, and his Ph.D. degree in Urban Planning from University of Southern California in 2001. He specializes in transportation planning, Intelligent Transportation System, and other infrastructure systems. He joined University of Seoul in 2004. He was awarded tenure in the UOS Department of Geoinformatics in 2013.

Professor Cho's interests include GIS in transportation; transportation network performance and control; urban mass transit systems, especially in Seoul; mathematical transportation demand estimation; and assessment of traffic impact of urban facilities; and long-term evidence of commuters' paradox.
