General Information
Dr. Kang is Assistant Professor of Architectural Engineering at the University of Seoul. Before joining UOS in 2014, Professor Kang worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Institute of Research for Construction, National Research Council Canada and as Postdoctoral Scholar at the Pennsylvania State University where he also taught a undergraduate level course on building mechanical system as Instructor. He received his B.S., M.S and Ph.D degrees in Architectural Engineering from Seoul National University.

Professor Kang’s current research interests focus on ventilation and indoor air quality control with a particular emphasis on ventilation system design to minimize the adverse effect on occupants due to indoor air pollution. The topics of his publications include the mathematical modeling of indoor pollutant emission from building materials, the effect of heating and ventilating on indoor air quality in a building, the development of ventilation rate estimation method by using human generated carbon dioxide gas, and the thermal comfort control system for an office building.
