Wan Soon Kim is Associate Professor of Environmental Horticulture at the University of Seoul. Before joining UOS in 2009, Professor Kim served as Senior Researcher at National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science, Rural Development Administration of Korean Government. He received an BS, MS, and his Ph.D. in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Seoul and served as Post-Doc Fellow at the University of California in Davis.

Professor Kim’s current research interests focus on environmental physiology of ornamental plants for flower production and urban application, with a particular emphasis on in- and out-door application of floricultural crops and landscape and garden plants to city area and urban greening. He has published on several topics including : development of environmentally appropriate technology for cut rose and gerbera greenhouse production in Korea, screening of indoor plants for indoor vertical gardening system, the effect of indoor environmental factor on growth and ornamental quality of foliage plants, life cycle assessment (LCA) of urban bio-wall for energy-saving and sustainability, breeding of garden roses and azaleas.
