Prof. Euiyong Park won ICBS Frontiers of Science Awards
- Awarded for the Thesis “Monoidal categorification and quantum affine algebras”
- ICBS Frontiers of Science Awards select and award outstanding thesis among 34 different fields of Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Theoretical Computer, and Information Science last 5 years
Professor Euiyong Park(department of Mathematics, University of Seoul) won Frontiers of Science Awards at The 1st International Congress of Basic Science(ICBS) held in Beijing, China from July 16th to July 28th.
ICBS is an international conference focusing on three basic science fields: Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Theoretical Computer and Information Science, and this year was its first event. ICBS Frontiers of Science Awards are awarded to thesis that have made outstanding academic achievements in the fields of Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Theoretical Computer and Information Science over the past five years.
Professor Euiyong Park wrote the thesis “Monoidal categorification and quantum affine algebras” with Masaki Kashiwara(professor of Kyoto University&KIAS), Myungho Kim(professor of Kyunghee University), and Se-Jin Oh(professor of Sungkyunkwan University), and published to Compositio Mathematica(2020). This thesis was selected by ICBS and awarded Frontiers of Science Awards in the field of Homological Algebra, K-Theory and Noncommutative Algebra.
